Gina Salā is global vocalist, composer, chant leader and teacher. Her repertoire spans 23 languages and performance credits include Cirque du Soleil, the United Nations, festivals and more. She has been chanting since her early childhood ashram years with Swami Sivananda Radha and deepened her practices in a nepal monastary, and in her years with her gurus in advaita (with H.W.L. Poonjaji aka "Papaji"), sanskrit and sound tantra (with Pt. Vagish Shastriji) and Dhrupad (with Pt Ritwik Sanjalji) as well as other teachers and guides from around the world. She leads classes in chant and voice, monday mantra sessions, transformative retreats in Hawaii (Chant, Drum, Yoga) and Mexico (Sound Wellness) as well as a year-long long Awakening Voice Power of Love Sound School focusing on raga, mantra, nada yoga. About The Artists...
GINA SALĀ has been chanting since her early childhood years living in a hindu ashram. Her performance credits include Cirque du Soleil, the United Nations, festivals and ashrams and her repertoire spans 20 languages. Blessed with wonderful gurus throughout her life, Gina has been leading classes, workshops and international retreats for over 25 years in sound in bhakti chant, raga, mantra, sound for wellness, sound tantra and song. HEATHER and BENJY WERTHEIMER have been leading kirtan (sacred chanting) worldwide since 2001 as the duo SHANTALA. They are known for their special gift of bringing the audience into a vast and loving experience through their unique blend of exquisite voices with instruments of India and the West. Together they create music with beauty, passion, and reverence. Heather and Benjy have released many beautiful and well-loved albums of sacred chant music since 2003, including Living Waters, Jaya, LIVE in love, Sri, The Love Window, LIVE2love and FIVE. STEVE GORN has performed Indian classical music on the bansuri bamboo flute in concerts and festivals throughout the world. A disciple of Sri Gour Goswami of Kolkata, and Pandit Raghunath Seth of Mumbai, he is well known to audiences in India and the west. He has been praised by critics and leading Indian musicians as one of the few westerners recognized to have captured the subtlety and beauty of Indian music. A Grammy winner and five time Grammy nominee, Steve Gorn is creating a new idiom, a music that combines the essence of classical Indian tradition with a contemporary world music sensibility. The strength of this music arises from a virtuoso mastery, generating a vibrant fusion, alive and accessible to western ears. From Indian classical music to world music and jazz projects with Paul Simon, Jack DeJohnette, Paul Winter and others, Steve infuses great mastery with a haunting, lyrical sweetness to bring the healing breath of the sacred to our demanding contemporary lives.
Guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer-songwriter SEAN FRENETTE has been inspiring audiences with the passion, virtuosity, and spirit of his unique musical performances. With 3 string guitar, electric-classical guitar, woodwinds, piano and voice, Sean artfully blends improvisation and slow-crafted composition, as well as a great breadth of musical influences (Michael Hedges, Eliot Fisk, Jimi Hendrix, Zakir Hussain, Edgar Meyer, Björk, Jeff Buckley, Fela Kuti, Tool, Thelonius Monk, Debussy, and Bach.) That Sean's solo music covers a wide range is not surprising given his background: he is a conservatory-trained classical guitarist, a long-time student of Indian classical vocal music, a prolific composer, a wildly creative improviser, and a passionate educator. Sean's love and appreciation of music and art from all over the world and from many time periods comes through in the joyful way in which he weaves his own music of the many threads humanity has collectively spun. Come experience a deep, illuminating and fun journey of nada yoga (sound yoga) and sound tantra. No experience needed, as long-term global vocalist and teacher Gina Salā guides us in raga (Indian singing) practices, Sanskrit mantra refinement, an introduction to sound tantra, and bhakti world chant. Our hearts bloom open and our minds rest as we unite in the sacred sounds. Gina will also offer techniques to empower and care for the voice. Amir O’Loughlin has been one of Vancouver’s foremost ambassadors of Interspiritual music for over 40 years. He has led hundreds of spiritual music events, is a multi-instrumentalist, and shares an interfaith approach to Kirtan chanting and song. In his professional life, Amir is a psychotherapist.

Niel Golden ~ Niel is a talented percussionist specializing in the subtle yet powerful, tuned, paired, Indian hand drums called Tabla. Niel is a disciple of the late tabla master, Pandit Sharda Sahai, the fifth generation leader of the Benares style of playing. Over more than four decades, he has performed and recorded with traditional Indian classical musicians, orchestras, choirs and roots and blues artists such as Xavier Rudd and Harry Manx. He has also been nominated for a Juno Award and a Western Canadian Music Award.

This year's annual Spring gathering (since 2020) features the renowned Bhakti / World Music vocalist, Gina Salá and her accompanied band for an expressive full "Bhakti" set of Bhajans and Kirtan complete with a musical Invocation and Dedication.
Aloha in Action's Lei'ohu Ryder and Maydeen ‘Īao will provide a complementary "Aloha" set of original "spirit filled" music and Talk Story relating to the musical selections. Additionally they will serve an Opening Blessing and Greeting honoring All in attendence, the seen and the unseen who have gathered to partake in this auspicious oceanside Gathering.
A portion of the Net proceeds will go to Hanuman Maui so to support their mission and community services, as part of Ram Dass' Maui Legacy.

Take a refreshing trek along the ancient raga roads (meditative east Indian sound) and wild yak trails of melody, as well as healing songs from east and west and from deep within. Experience the power of sound tantra, to bring our energy system and body into greater illumination and wholeness. Rejuvenate and cleanse in the cave of mantra with Gina’s clear pronunciation tips and memorable stories.
